O.W.L’s round up.

I woefully neglected April, but I have a lot to catch up with this week!

In April I took part in the O.W.L’s readathon. I posted my intention and wandered of track a little, I changed books, but I got there. Now to talk about the books. The plan was to complete all 12, because I have Hermione like ambition. And I did!

  • Ancient Runes: Sabriel, Garth Nix. I switched to The Novice, Taran Matharu.
  • Arithmancy: Six of Crows, Leigh Bardugo became Guess Who,
    Chris McGeorge.
  • Astronomy: Daughter of War, S.J.A Turney
  • Care of Magical Creatures: The Story Keeper, Anna Mazzola
  • Charms: Ash Princess, Laura Sebastian
  • Defence Against the Dark Arts: Miss Perigrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Ransom Riggs another change Fawkes, Nadine Brandes
  • Divination: Good Omens, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman turned into The Wicked Deep, Shea Ernshaw
  • Herbology: A Jigsaw of Fire and Stars, Yaba Badoe got left for The Fire Court, Andrew Taylor
  • History of Magic: The Penelopiad, Margaret Atwood
  • Muggle Studies: Naming Jack the Ripper
  • Potions: Strange the Dreamer, Laini Taylor
  • Transfiguration: City of Bones, Cassandra Clare

And with 12 O.W.L’s completed I got Outstanding. There are further readathons planned, NEWT’s in August, check out twitter @MagicalReadthn

It was great fun and of course reviews are coming pun this week, next time it will be as I read so I don’t forget.
